If you’ve seen the recent news about the new USPS duty fees (an $80–$200 flat charge per package, or a percentage-based duty) starting on August 29, 2025, you might be wondering how this could affect your orders with us.
Based on everything we understand so far, these changes shouldn’t affect your orders from our shop. That said, because this is a new policy, we want to be transparent and acknowledge there’s always a chance for unexpected changes at the border.
Why Your Orders Shouldn’t See Extra Fees
All of our planners, stickers, and notebooks are handmade in Canada, using materials sourced from Canada and the United States. From the very beginning, we’ve prided ourselves on keeping our products made by hand here at home. Sourcing materials within North America has always been our priority—even when it meant higher overhead costs—because we truly believe in supporting local businesses, whether in the U.S. or Canada.
Because of this, our products should qualify under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA), which generally allows goods made in Canada to enter the U.S. duty-free. This means your orders shouldn’t be subject to the new USPS duty charges that are aimed at other international imports.
What You’ll Likely Pay
Here’s what you should expect when placing an order with us:
-
No $80–$200 USPS duty fees (based on our current understanding).
-
No surprise customs charges are expected.
-
Just the regular shipping fee shown at checkout.
-
USPS may still apply their small standard handling fee (around $4.75 per package).
What This Means for You
Even with the new U.S. import rules, your orders with us should remain simple and affordable. We’ll continue providing the necessary documentation to help your items clear customs smoothly. If anything changes, we’ll keep you updated right away.
You’ll continue to receive the same high-quality, hand-crafted planners, stickers, and notebooks—without worrying about unexpected costs.
Thank You for Supporting Handmade
From the start, our mission has been to keep everything hand-crafted here in Canada while supporting local suppliers across North America. Your support allows us to keep that commitment strong.
We know the recent news has caused some uncertainty, and we hope this clears things up. Thank you for trusting us and for valuing handmade products—we’re always here to answer any questions.
